Alcohol-free kink events in Montreal

A good part of the scene runs without alcohol. It comes down to negotiation, which asks for a clear head, and to the rule almost every dungeon enforces, where you do not play after a drink. This page gathers what organizations explicitly announce as alcohol-free, whatever the format.

What it changes on the night

There is tea, coffee, often something sweet, and nobody asks why your hands are empty. Munches in cafés and tea houses are common. The ones held in bars usually book a section, and nothing obliges you to order alcohol.

The dungeon rule

Almost all of them refuse play after drinking, and several refuse alcohol on the premises. The reason is easy to state. Someone who has been drinking reads a safeword badly, and consents less clearly than they think. Monitors enforce it without arguing.

Still going out at night

Dance nights almost all serve alcohol, and few of them skip it. Evening workshops, rope jams and discussions do not, and they fill the same slot in a week.
